Elsie was a U.S. Army flight nurse — trained to save lives thousands of feet in the air. During her missions in the Gulf War, she moved swiftly through turbulence, triaged under pressure, and carried the wounded with steady hands and a steel heart.

Years of service — and long hours on steel aircraft floors — left her with chronic plantar fasciitis and arthritis in both knees. But slowing down was never an option for Elsie. After retirement, she stayed active in her community, but always needed a shoe that supported her — the way she once supported so many.
